Description of the attraction

One of the best and most popular beaches on the Greek island of Patmos is Kambos Beach, better known as Kato Kambos (or Lower Kambos). It is located in the northeastern part of the island in a cozy picturesque bay, about 9-10 km from the administrative center of the island, Chora and only 6 km from the port of Skala. In summer, there is a regular bus service from Kambos beach to Chora and Skala. You can also get to the beach using taxi services or renting a car.

Kambos Beach is an excellent sandy beach with small pebbles, stretching for several kilometers. The beach is well organized and offers its guests taverns and restaurants with excellent cuisine, beach bars with soft drinks, showers and changing rooms, a variety of water sports for lovers of active pastime (including windsurfing, sailing, etc.) and of course same, sun loungers and sun umbrellas. However, you can hide from the scorching Greek sun in the shade of the trees surrounding the beach. The very convenient entry into the water and the relatively shallow water makes Kambos beach an ideal place for families with small children.

You can stay both in Kambos, where there is a fairly good selection of hotels and apartments, and in the nearby neighboring village of the same name, also known as Ano Kambos (or Upper Kambos).

It is worth noting that the island is relatively small, so you can diversify your vacation by going to see the local sights. The most famous and interesting sights of Patmos are located in the city of Chora - this is the monastery of St. John the Evangelist and the cave of the Apocalypse.
