Description of the attraction

Dolphinarium is a modern water and entertainment complex in the city of Batumi, which is one of the main dolphinariums in this region. It is located on the shores of Lake Nurigel in the city park on May 6.

The dolphinarium was opened in 1975, becoming the first such institution on the territory of the USSR. The original building of the Batumi Dolphinarium with a beautiful light canopy was designed by the talented local architect Douglas Zamtaradze. The popular dolphinarium operated for 20 years. In 1995 it was closed, and Batumi dolphins continued to perform in one of the dolphinariums on the island of Cyprus.

Over time, the old building of the dolphinarium was badly dilapidated, so in 2006 it was decided to dismantle it. A few years later, the restoration of the dolphinarium was undertaken by Georgian patrons of art, allocating their own funds. The construction of the new building was completed in 2009.

The performances take place in a modern open-air entertainment complex. Decorations are used as decorations that imitate wildlife. The auditorium has the shape of an amphitheater and, thanks to the glass dome, is perfectly protected from the sun and bad weather. The Batumi Dolphinarium can host more than 700 spectators at a time. The show is held in several languages at once: Russian, Georgian and English. Spectators have the opportunity to feel like dolphin trainers.

15 dolphins and 4 seals take part in interesting and exciting show numbers. The show consists of 30 different actions, namely: dancing, playing with balls and rings, balancing on tails, unforgettable kick-off of balls and many other great moments.

In addition to traditional shows and performances in the dolphinarium, you can visit dolphin therapy, which has a beneficial effect on the human body. In addition to swimming sessions with dolphins, medical programs are also held here.

Due to the huge flow of tourists, it is recommended to book tickets to the Batumi Dolphinarium in advance.
