Description of the attraction
The Church of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God of the Dnepropetrovsk Diocese of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate was founded in 1998 and is located in the northern part of the city of Dnepropetrovsk, Semapornaya Street, 60. The temple was named after the Iverskaya Icon of the Mother of God. Once upon a time in its place there was an ancient city - Old Samar.
In 1998, at the site where the temple was built, in a small tent, a Divine Liturgy was held in honor of the arrival of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. Eight months later, the first temple "Golden Gate" was built, and with it the construction of the main temple of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God began. The monastery consisted of two parts: the upper - summer and lower - winter temples.
It is a beautiful structure of red brick and the finest Italian marble, designed in the Byzantine style. In 2008, the main church was solemnly consecrated. The iconostasis of the temple is made of a semi-precious stone - pink onyx, which was brought from Iran itself. The church contains particles of the relics of many saints.
On the day of illumination, several springs miraculously appeared on the site of the construction of the temple. This is how a spring arose, the base of which was made of stones brought from Jerusalem, Ukraine and the Middle East. The water from the springs is brought out to the font, into which an adult can completely plunge.
Also on the territory of the complex there is an amazing light and music fountain named after St. Faith, Hope, Love, telescope and unique sundial. And in the courtyard of the church you can see a wrought-iron carriage with a mailbox for letters to the patron saints of married life - Peter and Fevronia. In the middle of 2009. a zoo was opened on the territory of the temple, in which numerous animals live.
The Church of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God is a wonderful place where you can study Orthodox culture, talk with priests and worship shrines.
