Description of the attraction
Lake Parz is a small lake located in the Tavush region at an altitude of 1334 m above sea level. The lake is located in the Dilijan Park in a shallow valley among the forests. The total length of the lake, which has an oblong outline, is 385 m, the width is about 85 m, and the depth is over 5 m.
The water in Lake Parz is greenish in color, very clear and clean. The forest grows right near the coastline, and powerful trees leaning towards the lake are reflected in its water surface. Lake Parz is filled with water from mountain springs.
Around the lake there is a huge number of guest houses and cozy restaurants, shrouded in a deep forest. This place is very popular with tourists, because here you can have a wonderful rest, recharge with positive energy, make exciting horseback riding trips, and visit the entertainment complex. There are several rental points on the territory of the lake, where you can rent a catamaran or a boat to enjoy the lake and the local beauty to its fullest. Also, along the banks of the Parz, there are several cozy gazebos and specially designated barbecue areas.
According to one of the legends associated with this lake, a couple of newlyweds died here. Since that time, it has become a tradition for every young couple to come to Lake Parz after the solemn wedding ceremony to honor the memory of the dead newlyweds.
Today Lake Parz is one of the main natural attractions of the city of Dilijan.
