Pattaya is a diverse city and, despite its “strawberry” fame, it is very interesting and promising. It is good not only for sex tourists, young people, elderly couples and even tourists with children feel quite at ease. The main thing is not to take your vacation lightly and choose the right area where to stay in Pattaya. Each part of the city is different and is able to provide entertainment for the most discerning taste and interest.
Accommodation in Pattaya
Pattaya is traditionally divided into north, south and center. If the center is an eternal drive, the abode of vice and the main hot spot of the whole of Thailand, the sea peacefully splashes in the north and a calm resort life proceeds. The south is more youthful and partying, but the beaches are equally good both there and there, although not everywhere are ideal cleanliness.
As for the hotels of the resort, everything is in accordance with modern realities - there are establishments for every request and opportunity. There are expensive hotels and whole complexes where everything is organized according to the highest standard, there are also modest mini-hotels designed exclusively for overnight stays. There are also quite cheap hostels, although you can hardly find such establishments near the beaches. One can also note such a feature - the closer to the coast, the more expensive hotels, therefore budget-conscious tourists often settle on the second or even third line, and get to the sea on foot or by tuk-tuk - sometimes even daily rent of a taxi, tuk-tuk or a moped is cheaper than staying in a beachfront hotel.
Family companies, usually living in northern regions, prefer hotels with a developed infrastructure - a swimming pool, restaurant, playgrounds, spa and massage parlors. Since these tourists come with children, it is important for them to get the most out of their vacation without leaving the hotel. And there are more and more such proposals in Pattaya, although the famous "all inclusive" is still less developed here than among the Egyptian and Turkish colleagues. In expensive hotels, you can count on a jacuzzi and a bar right in your room, plus such bonuses as terraces overlooking the sea, panoramic windows, a large area of rooms, a car with a chauffeur included in the price, luxurious exercise and other useful little things.
For active sightseeing, hotels in the center or away from the beaches are more appropriate, which will be cheaper and much more convenient - traditionally, there are travel agencies next to these establishments, as well as transport interchanges, from where you can go to any part of the city and even the country.
Romantic couples, who often wander into the tropical latitudes of Pattaya, often resort to the services of hotels for newlyweds - the appropriate atmosphere, design, champagne and other amenities will make the amorous tour much more pleasant and allow the couple to enjoy each other, not paying attention to everyday worries. Such establishments are not cheap, but fully justify their cost.
If funds allow, you can stay in Pattaya and in an apartment, apartment, and even a coastal villa. If you are not particularly nitpicky and chic, you can find an option at a price comparable to a good hotel. Such decisions are relevant for a two-week vacation, and especially for wintering.
Pattaya's districts are contrasting and contradictory, so it is better to decide in advance which opportunities attract the most. Let's take a closer look at the areas that are most loved by tourists.
Naklua
Holiday Inn Pattaya
Perhaps the main beach of the resort, famous and popular. Once it attracted by the purity of its water, but with the advent of mass tourism, it lost this advantage. Although it is still beautiful and cozy here, and the atmosphere is calm and serene - just right for a vacation with children. The kid can tinker in the sand to his heart's content, and then plunge into the warm sea with a gentle coast.
Most of the hotels come close to the coast, located almost on the beach. Villas and condominiums are adjacent to them, and literally across the road from the coast begins a long line of shops, souvenir shops, Thai massage centers, spa centers, restaurants, bars and similar places.
In a moderately calm atmosphere, there is no time to be bored here, and there is no need - you can always go on an excursion, for example, visit the local Temple of Truth or a dolphinarium, or go to the market in search of the most delicious fruits and snacks.
Hotels where you can stay in Pattaya: Sabai Lodge, Loma Resort & Spa, Riviera Resort, Crystal Palace, Sunshine Vista Hotel, Siam Bayshore, Amari Ocean Pattaya, Holiday Inn Pattaya, Central Pattaya Condos, Baywalk Residence, Centara Grand Mirage Beach.
Jomtien
Mermaids Beach Resort
The second most popular beach in Pattaya. Located in the south, it is a symbol of a family holiday paradise. Although why only family - young people feel equally comfortable here, for whom all conditions have been created - water attractions, skiing, surfing, parachutes, jet skis, snorkeling and boat trips.
Five-kilometer Jomtien is ideal for families with children due to clean sand and water, gentle entry into the sea and excellent equipment. There are restaurants, cafes and shops in the narrow streets leading off the beach; one of the hotels has a water park. Hotels where to stay in Pattaya are lined up both along the coastline and within the quarter, 100-300 meters from the beaches. There is simply nothing further than this distance in Jomtien - the buildings break off, pass into natural spaces untouched by man.
Hotels: R-Con Rest Sea, Mermaids Beach Resort, Beach Gallery House, Royal Thai Pavillion, Lumpini Park, Natural Park Resort, Atlantis Jomtien, The Jomtien Twelve, The Now Hotel, Lotusland Resort, Royal Heritage Pavillion.
Pratumnak
Emerald Palace
A bright representative of the southern part of Pattaya, a noisy and permanently lively Pratumnak. A favorite of the public for its picturesque panorama and equally colorful surroundings, the beach is characterized by a shallow sea with a flat bottom.
There are no nightclubs and noisy bars, but there is an abundance of all kinds of entertainment, multiplied by the clear sea and vast well-groomed territory. A significant advantage of Pratumnak is its location - it is located near Volkin Street and the pier, from where boats depart to the islands. If you want to combine a measured beach vacation with active parties, you should consider this option.
There is a Chinese temple and Big Buddha Hill nearby. The observation deck overlooking the sea deserves a special mention.
Hotels: Emerald Palace, Centara Grand Phratamnak, Brave Lion, Roual Cliff Terrace, Asia Pattaua Hotel, The Encore Hotel, Pattaya Norndee, Baron Beach, A-One New Wing, Ibis Pattaya.
Sukhumvit
Rossarin
This street has a beginning, but it seems there is no end. If you walk along it for a long time, you can reach Bangkok itself, although you will have to march for a long time, because Sukhumvit stretches for as much as 400 kilometers. The longest street in Thailand, by the way, is quite suitable to stay in Pattaya right here. Unsatisfied with an abundance of tourists, Sukhumvit Street offers cheap prices and an abundance of offers. Knowledgeable people stay here, because you can have a great rest and at the same time save good money.
The street is full of stalls and shops for all tastes. But the beaches are far from here. The area is populated mainly by Thais, but here you can plunge into real local life, taste authentic Thai food, and get involved in local values and scrapie.
Private apartments, apartments and houses prevail, there are not so many hotels and they are not represented on the Internet. The unimportant transport situation is also upsetting - you will have to get everywhere either on foot or by taxi.
Hotels: Rossarin Seeview.
Wongamat
Dusit Thani Pattaya
Wongamat is located in the north of the resort and is closely adjacent to Naklua. Its distinctive feature is the expensive luxury hotels approaching the beach. Lovers of carefree rest with conveniences are addressed to the central part of the coast, equipped according to all resort canons.
For privacy, welcome to the distant outskirts, but you will have to sacrifice the comfort in the form of sun loungers and easy entry into the water. The bottom in these areas is rocky and is clearly not intended for children's swimming, but here the waves are shallow and not so frequent. Vacationers with small companions should pay attention to the southern part. Wongamat is rightfully considered the cleanest beach, which is extremely important for Pattaya.
Hotels: Dusit Thani Pattaya, Romeo Palace Hotel, Pattaya Garden, Pullman Pattaya Hotel G, Cape Dara Resort.
Centre
Pattaya Discovery Beach
The resort's entertainment citadel, full of bars, clubs, go-th bars, restaurants and shops. It is never quiet here even on deep nights, because there are always those who cannot sleep and they disperse melancholy in one of the hot spots, of which there are record numbers in the central part of Pattaya. The main promenade - Volkin Street - is the very storehouse of bohemian entertainment.
The central beach of Pattaya Beach is always crowded with vacationers, although the water in the sea is of questionable quality. Hotels, guest houses and other places where to stay in Pattaya start right behind the beach, as soon as you cross the road, prices fall as you move away from the coast.
The central part is optimally suited for reckless rest and parties, so all youth groups settle here. Vacationers with children in this area will be more prudent to avoid, especially in the evenings, when the local priestesses of love take to the streets.
Hotels: Pattaya Discovery Beach, Hard Rock Hotel, Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa, Sabai Resort, Pattaya Marriott, Red Planet, A-One New Wing, Caesar Palace Hotel, Sandalay Resort, The Imperial Pattaya, Intimate Hotel by Tim Boutique.
