Museum "Lights of Moscow" was opened in 1980, in the Armenian lane. An old building of the Chambers of Miloslavsky from the 17th century was chosen for the museum exposition. The exposition of the museum is devoted to the history of lighting devices.

The Moscow Lights Museum is recognized as one of the most unusual museums in the capital. He was included in the list of "Best places in Moscow - 2012", compiled by the magazine "Afisha". The museum has repeatedly won the "Changing Museum in a Changing World" competition held by the V. Potanin Charitable Foundation.
The museum has implemented the Moscow Lanterns project, which is aimed at identifying and preserving ancient lanterns.
