It is hard to imagine that a trip to the cemetery can be part of an excursion program. But it turns out that everything is possible in Barcelona, when you visit which you can really be offered an excursion to the cemetery. The fact is that the Montjuïc cemetery is not just a cemetery. Montjuïc is an incredibly beautiful place with magnificent marble sculptures, arches, terraces, beautifully planted trees and monuments of amazing architecture. The cemetery was opened on March 17, 1883 after the rapid growth of Barcelona and the increase in its population, and today many famous people in Catalonia are buried here.
