Description of the attraction

The Barcelona Aquarium was opened in 1995 in the port area. Today it is the largest aquarium in the whole of Europe, with 20 themed pools, which are home to the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean Sea, as well as other ocean and sea waters. The scale of the Barcelona Aquarium is really amazing - there are up to 11 thousand sea creatures, which are contained in 6 million liters of sea water. Of course, such a variety of marine life cannot but attract visitors from all over the world.

The most interesting and unique place of the Barcelona Aquarium can rightfully be considered a huge oceanarium, which is a huge tank filled with 4.5 million liters of water, through which an 80-meter glass tunnel leads. Thus, walking along this tunnel, you are like traveling along the bottom of the ocean, and real tiger sharks, rays, various sea and oceanic fish, which you can observe very closely, swim right above and around you. This spectacle is truly mesmerizing.

As already mentioned, the aquarium is divided into themed pools, which contain representatives of the northern, tropical seas, deep waters, coral forests, etc. Thus, it is easier to create conditions for all creatures that are as similar as possible to their natural habitat.

The exhibition presented by the inhabitants of the Mediterranean Sea is the largest. Here you can see colorful moray eels, octopuses, sharks, seahorses, flat fish. The Tropical Aquarium contains representatives living in the Red Sea, the Caribbean, in the Australian waters of the Great Barrier Reef and even in the Hawaii region. Of particular interest is the Aqua Planet exhibition, attending which you will get acquainted with creatures that have adapted to life in extreme sea conditions, for example, arctic waters, deep depressions, etc.

In addition, here you will find children's attractions, educational exhibitions, and you can also take advantage of special programs such as diving with sharks, etc.

I do not recommend it! drove in high spirits after reading the positive reviews. 2 families, children 6 and 6, 5 years old. and what did we get? there are few large aquariums (stingrays are cool, I agree). now about the vaunted tunnel. there are two of them. one is only half under water, the second is completely under water but it is short. and the population of these …
