The island of Bali is part of the Malay Archipelago of the Lesser Sunda Islands and territorially belongs to Indonesia. The bulk of the resorts popular with beach lovers are located in the southern part of Bali around the small Bukit Peninsula:

Choosing a beach
Holidays in Bali are filled with unforgettable experiences. On the island, you can go diving or fishing, take a tour of ancient temples, or spend an unnoticed day at the spa. It is worth choosing a place of rest suitable for yourself carefully and responsibly, so that the distant exotic leaves only positive impressions.
In the south of the island, strong waves are more common, the ebb and flow are more pronounced, and winds and tropical showers during the rainy season can cause not too clear water. In the north, on the other hand, complete tranquility reigns almost all year round. The sand is black, volcanic, not so photogenic, but soft and very healing. The most attractive and well-maintained beaches of the north of Bali are located in the resort of Lovina.
The east of the island is more suitable for snorkelers. In addition to calm observers of marine life, married couples with children and tourists of a respectable age often meet on the beaches of eastern resorts. For example, Sanur boasts coarse clean sand and almost no waves. The only inconvenience can be caused by low tides, but their schedule can be easily get used to.
Bali's western shores are rocky and not well suited for a comfortable and lazy beach holiday, but photographers often come here to hunt for magnificent ocean sunsets.
The sea in Bali for divers
The island is part of the Coral Triangle and boasts a high variety of marine life - both plants and animals. Bali's coastal waters are home to at least 500 species of coral reefs, seven times more than the Caribbean. To the east of the island there is a conventional line dividing two natural zones: tropical Asia and Australia. Is it any surprise that the Indonesian island has become popular with divers from all over the world.
Experienced divers choose the Bali Sea, washing the north of the island and belonging to the Pacific Ocean basin. The coral reef off the coast of Pemuteran covers an area of about 2000 square meters. m.
For beginners, the reef off the east coast near the port of Padang Bai is more suitable. The local Blue Lagoon is a great place to explore the world of diving and improve for further exciting dives.
