Belarusian Brest, a hero city, in a peaceful life continues to be an original, quiet town. As elsewhere, it has its own little treasures and places dear to residents, but tourists, like many years ago, are attracted by the city's military glory. For many, the question of where to stay in Brest is quite urgent - the city is unfamiliar and few people want to make the wrong choice, ruining their stay in it.
Features of Brest
Despite the increased attention from travelers, there are not so many hotels in Brest, but they are being successfully replaced by the private sector. There are so many apartments and rental housing in the town that it seems that all the townspeople do nothing but rent out apartments and rooms to visitors.
Unfortunately or fortunately, Belarus is still far from such advantages of globalization as chain hotels, which by their name alone guarantee comfort and quality service. At least, representatives of these companies did not reach Brest and tourists have to be content with local hotels, guessing where a warm welcome awaits them.
On the other hand, this allowed the town to preserve its originality, and staying here for a while transfers it to the recent past. In addition, a small selection does not mean low quality at all - there are quite decent hotels with decent rooms, friendly staff and unobtrusive but good service.
Renting a house in Brest is an inexpensive pleasure, if you rent an apartment for a long time, in this case a one-room apartment will cost an average of $ 100, a two-room apartment or three-ruble note - 120-150 American rubles. But since most tourists come for a couple of weeks of vacation or for the May holidays, daily rent is relevant for them. In this case, you will have to pay for the apartment from $ 25 and more, but already per day. Average price - 50 USD.
The location of the apartments in relation to the area has little effect on the price, much more important are the offered conditions, which are not a sin to pay attention to. If you are offered to rent your own house on the outskirts, it is not at all a fact that you will live in heavenly bushes. It is quite possible that the amenities will be on the street, and you will have to walk thoroughly to transport or the nearest store.
Where is the best place to live
The best option is to settle in new buildings in areas closer to the center, since the bulk of tourists come to the town for the sake of the Brest Fortress, and it is around it that the main tourist and entertainment life revolves. Staying in Brest nearby is a reasonable way out that will save time, although Brest itself is not so big and if you come by your own car, you can quickly and easily get from any part of the city to another.
If you decide to stay in a hotel, pay attention to these establishments:
- Silver Thaler.
- Energy.
- Hermitage Museum.
- Vesta.

In hotels, prices start at $ 25 and reach $ 120-150 per day for a double room, like in the Hermitage hotel. The average price remains in the range of $ 40-50, which will allow even not too wealthy travelers to relax here.
Guest houses should not be deprived of attention. Prices in many establishments are comparable to hotels, and sometimes even higher, so you won't always be able to save money. But the possibilities are wider. In addition to the furnished room, guests have the right to use the kitchen, common seating areas, parking and other amenities. Often, the owners delight guests with wonderful homemade breakfasts and dinners, and the atmosphere and atmosphere here are always sincerely friendly and very warm. Local residents are generally very happy with guests and do not hesitate to demonstrate it.

- Guest house Irina.
- Spring.

Where to stay in Brest
And we move on to the places and areas where it is best to spend a weekend or vacation, if the guiding star took you to the hero city of Brest.
Officially, Brest is divided into only two districts - Leninsky and Moskovsky, but such a division will not help much tourists, especially since the locals use a more detailed classification.
Here are just some of the "popular" districts of Brest:
- Centre.
- Kievka.
- Graevka.
- Rechitsa.
- Vulka.
There are many others, but these are located in the center or close to it and are suitable for a short and inexpensive stay.
Centre
The heart of Brest, the abode of its main historical monuments, beautiful streets and avenues, a place where the past meets the present. There are Moskovskaya, Gogol, Lenin, Pionerskaya, Pushkin streets and, of course, the main promenade with cafes, shops and street musicians - Sovetskaya Street.
Here you can indulge in idleness, watching passers-by, sipping coffee or beer, or admire the architectural delights of the area. By the way, Sovetskaya is considered the most "European" part of the town. You can walk along the Lantern Alley and rub a button on a lamplighter sculpture.
There is also an Ice Sports Palace, entertainment centers, cinemas, pizzerias, pastry shops, bars and pubs. In general, if where to stay in Brest, only here.
And if you walk along Moskovskaya Street to Masherov Avenue, you will get to the main asset of the city - the Brest Fortress memorial. Inside is a whole city full of tragic memories and memorial installations. Here is the monument of Courage, and the Eternal Fire of Glory, the necropolis, the remains of the White Palace, barracks, gates and much more.
Several museums operate on the territory of the fortress at once: the Brest Fortress Museum, the Brest Fortress Defense Museum. Nearby there is another exposition dedicated to the ancient city of Berestye, in the place of which modern Brest grew up.
You can stay here in hotels and apartments: New Fortres №1, Luxcompany, Good Morning Hostel, Green Park Apartments, Hermitage, Provence, Vesta, Cottage Park.
Kievka
Sleeping area next to the historic center. In the past - the village of Kievskaya Sloboda, annexed to Brest in the middle of the last century. The area has still retained its rural origin, and if you dreamed of visiting a kind of "village in the middle of the city" and learning the delights of rural tourism, feel free to settle here.
Village houses coexist with new buildings, the latter, however, are not so many. There are few shops, bars and other entertainment establishments, but it has its own attraction - the Polish Cemetery. The necropolis is full of burials from the 19th century, many of them represent real works of art.
The main advantage of the area is its cheapness. There are many places to stay in Brest, these are private apartments, rooms, and sometimes whole houses. You can't count on European luxury, but, as they say, it's cheap and cheerful. And the historic center is just a stone's throw away.
You can stay at Click Apartment or at the Aquatel hotel.
Graevka
Another "sleeping bag" adjacent to the center. It is convenient because the central railway station is located within it, and if you are passing through or arrived in Brest by train, you will not have to travel far with suitcases at the ready.
Once upon a time the main crime bosses of the city lived here, today Graevka is a quiet, calm quarter with small shops and stalls, in the center there is a large store of confiscated goods where you can buy absolutely everything. There is also its own architectural monument - a barracks building, built in the 19th century and well preserved.
There are no problems with transport in the region: both with the center and with other districts there are good connections, you can easily get to anywhere in Brest.
You can stay in Graevka at the Silver Thaler hotel, which is on Krasnogvardeyskaya Street.
Rechitsa
This area is attractive because it houses the brand shop of a local brewery. You can buy freshly brewed foam directly at the entrance of the enterprise, inexpensively and with a quality guarantee, and have a snack with a branded sausage bought right there nearby. If you are a lover of delicious food, feel free to choose Rechitsa as a place to stay in Brest.
Once Rechitsa was a part of the Lithuanian principality, and the settlement has been known since the 16th century, but don't let that inspire you too much - nothing remains of the past and you won't be able to admire the ancient buildings here.
Rechitsa should be considered as an accommodation option if you want to be close to the central streets and at the same time not overpay for prestige. You can rent a country house here for a reasonable price, and there are a lot of apartments for rent in the district.
Vulka
A relatively new area with modern buildings. From the point of view of comfort, it is most suitable to stay in Brest, and in whatever company you arrive here. Here you can have good fun with a youth team or relax with the whole family, including with children.
Scattered around the area are playgrounds, cafes, beer bars, pizzerias, snack bars, dryers. There are many green areas, squares and alleys. The streets themselves look clean, well-groomed and much closer to modern realities. Lots of walking places. Actually, Vulka has been known since the times of the Lithuanian principality, but it began to be put in order not so long ago.
There are many chain stores and supermarkets in the area, fitness clubs, children's centers, sports grounds. But its main advantage - from here you can quickly get to the Brest Fortress and in general to the center without transfers and delays - a direct bus runs to the main tourist favorite.
In addition to the above, one can note such districts of Brest as Vostok, Yuzhny, Berezovka, Dubrovka, Lysaya Gora and many others, and all of them will become an excellent refuge for a few days spent in the most heroic city of Belarus.
