In the list of must-see places in Shanghai, the first line will be occupied by the embankment of the river with the name not quite euphonious for the European ear - Huangpu. But this is a kind of Mecca for tourists arriving in Shanghai.

But knowledgeable people offer a second, more interesting option - a boat trip along this river until it flows into the great Yangtze. For example, the expositions showcase the main museum treasures - collections of ancient bronze items, collections of ceramics or masterpieces of Chinese calligraphy, famous all over the world.

It was built by the Jesuits, one legend is associated with it, which says that all sins will be forgiven for those Christians who visit this shrine.
The Jesuits laid the foundation for the basilica in 1863; it immediately attracted crowds of pilgrims and could not accommodate everyone. The question arose about the construction of a new building made of granite, by 1935 the basilica, built in the neo-Renaissance and neo-Gothic style, met the first pilgrims. The complex includes a bell tower, on top of which there is a sculptural composition depicting the Madonna and Child.
