- Andorra - a country of museums
Andorra is called "almost Spain" or "ski Spain". Despite the fact that the country does not even have its own international airport, excursions in Andorra are not becoming less popular. A variety of routes and trails, reasonable prices and, of course, a luxurious vacation make Andorra one of the most popular tourist countries in Europe.
Sightseeing tour of Andorra
The best way to get to know this tiny European state is with a sightseeing tour. It will cost only 50 euros, and you can get so much experience that it will last for many years. It begins with a visit to Ordino, a picturesque valley, the beauty of which can impress even experienced travelers who have seen the world. In the city of the same name, you can visit the old quarters, where each house is a real masterpiece of Andorran architecture made of stone and wood. In the Areni-Plandolit Museum you can get acquainted with the life of the Andorran bourgeoisie of the 19th century - the museum itself is located in a beautiful manor house of that era.
You cannot take a tour of Andorra without visiting the only Spanish village in the country - Os de Sivis. The way there lies through the mysterious Devil's Gorge and the valley of the same name with the village, which resembles a dense forest thicket. Here you can treat yourself to cheese and local cold cuts.
Naturlandia - winter recreation center
This theme park is located in the Pyrenees Mountains. There are beautiful landscapes, snow trails, a lot of entertainment for children and adults. Here you can ski not only downhill (although skiing from a height of 2 km is still the main goal of visitors), but also sledging, ice skating, horses and even ponies. A wide variety of entertainment, attractions and excursions are held in this park.
There are also three restaurants on the territory of Naturlandia. One of them specializes in different types of cheese, the other specializes in traditional Andorran cuisine, and the third offers a wonderful view of the unique attraction Tobotronk.
Tobotronk is perhaps the main attraction of Naturlandia. This is the longest slide in the world - more than 5 kilometers of track. You can go down it in a comfortable double sleigh, and special handles allow you to control the speed and turns of the sleigh.
What else will the excursion to Naturlandia give you?
- Artificial skating rink open all year round.
- In summer - hiking in the mountains.
- Snowmobile and ATV rides.
- Snowshoeing.
- Archery and air gun shooting.
Ice rink for sports and recreation
Not far from Andorra la Vella, the capital of the principality, is the Ice Palace. This is a grand entertainment center that simply cannot be missed. Here you can not only skate at any time of the year, but you can also play water polo or swim here in summer and winter. On the huge ice rink, you can not only skate, but also play hockey, curling and even ice football. The most interesting entertainment here is the ice battle, during which the participants are armed with special infrared machine guns.
In the pool you can play canopolo or water polo, or just swim for fun. You can even celebrate your birthday here with professional animators and swimming instructors.
Andorra - a country of museums
It is rare to find a country where the ratio of museums to the total area of the state would be so impressive. There are so many museums here not to find and a tour of all of them will take more than one day.
Interested in vintage and modern cars and bicycles? Go to the Automobile Museum. The motorcycle museum will also introduce you to the history of this two-wheeled "iron horse". In the building of the national hydroelectric factory, you can find the Electricity Museum, and in the former building of the tobacco factory, the Tobacco Museum, which displays a wide variety of devices related to the production of cigars, cigarettes and pipes. The Perfume Museum offers an amazing journey into the world of smells and aromas. In the Postal Museum, you can see a unique collection of postage stamps of the principality, the oldest of which dates back to 1928.
Andorra presents a lot of interesting things to art lovers. The Museum of Russian Nesting Dolls not only presents a unique collection of these traditional Russian souvenirs, but also tells about the history and methods of making Russian dolls. Comic fans will love the Museum's collection of rare editions. In the Museum of Microminiature, you can see the works of the best miniaturist in the world, Ukrainian Mykola Syadristy, but for this you will have to use a microscope with three hundred times magnification.
