Yalta is famous for its sanatoriums, beaches, amazing nature, palaces and mansions … And if tourists decide to look at the flea market of Yalta, they can buy interesting vintage things there. The main assortment of the Yalta flea market is items that have been well preserved, but have become unnecessary to their owners.
Flea market on Moskovskaya street
Usually sellers with their simple goods are placed along the building, which is called the “House of Books” (a little further off the clothing market begins). They lay out the goods directly on the ground, having previously placed cardboard, oilcloth or bedspread. So, here you can find old gramophone records, cameras, used shoes and clothes, vintage glasses and beads, all kinds of hats, locksmith and musical instruments, plates, pots, knives, forks and spoons, tea sets, tin boxes, teapots, clocks, paintings, caskets, Soviet literature, beautiful candlesticks.
Tourists can get to the flea market by any public transport that goes to the “Clothes Market” stop; Opening hours: daily from 9 am to 2 pm (more sellers, and therefore more interesting products, can be found on weekends).
Christmas market
If you are resting in Yalta in winter, you will have a chance to visit the “Christmas Village” - it is being equipped on the Yalta Embankment (January 7-10 from 11:00 to 22:00). There they will be offered to have a bite to eat with dishes cooked on the grill and warm themselves with hot mulled wine (in case of bad weather, an indoor pavilion is provided, heated by firepots), to purchase handmade New Year gifts, to visit art pavilions, to performances of street theaters and in designer photo zones, to take part in games, contests and master classes.
Shopping in Yalta
In the summer, fashionistas should prepare for the high prices in stores, which begin to decline closer to October. They can find branded clothing stores (“HelenMarlen”, “StatusCoast”, “Monet”) on Lenin Street. As for the antique shops of Yalta, the guests will find the following interesting ones: "Rarity" (Gogol street, 20); "Smaragd" (Roosevelt Street, 5a).
You should not rush to leave Yalta until you have bought a whole suitcase of gifts in the form of sets of essential oils, purple Yalta onions (you can buy a small grid of onions in any market; if you wish, you can buy seeds of the famous onion to try to plant it in your country house), seedlings from the Nikitinsky Botanical Garden, herbal preparations and teas with thyme, sage or lavender, Massandra wines, paintings with a view of Yalta sights, figs and rose petal jam, and all kinds of edible souvenirs (it is better to buy them at the Central Market located on Kievskaya Street, 24).
