The Kamakura resort is rightly considered the most metropolitan. Located just an hour's drive from Tokyo, this city is a favorite hangout spot for local active youth and tourists who prefer to combine sightseeing in the capital with comfortable outdoor activities.
The resort hosts dozens of different festivals. The beach season falls:
- On August 10, Kamakura hosts a fireworks festival, culminating in an hour-long evening show on the beach.
- In mid-September, the city hosts the Yabusame festival. It is dedicated to Japanese horseback archery. The program includes colorful demonstrations and competitions of the best archers of the country.
Photos of tourists from Kamakura are full of ancient attractions. The city has a rich centuries-old history and one of its visiting cards is the eleven-meter statue of Buddha, cast in the middle of the 13th century.
The easiest way to get to the resort is by car along the N134 highway from Tokyo or by train: there are three railway stations within the city limits.
Egret town
The Japanese call the sakura and the egret as the symbols of this resort town. The village of Shirahama is located on the island of Honshu, and it is famous for its beach holidays. In Japan, only on the local coast there is such perfect white sand, which was brought to the local beach from distant Australia.
Luxurious views of the coastal cliffs, hot springs and outdoor baths, excellent tourist infrastructure and mild climate - these are the components of Shirahama's success in the Japanese tourism market. Ideal for local beaches and family holidays. Two amusement parks with zoos, attractions, educational expositions and dolphinariums have been built in the resort area.
It is easy to get here by taking a domestic flight from Tokyo or by train from there via Osaka. The flight time will take a little over an hour, and the train will have to spend about five hours on the road.
Prices for tours to Shirahama can hardly be called affordable for everyone, but this is unlikely to stop true connoisseurs of exquisite relaxation.
Magic Islands
Beach holidays in Japan in the Ryukyu archipelago differ depending on the region selected:
- On the west coast along the coast in the village of Onna, the most luxurious hotels have been built.
