Not all subjects of the Russian Federation have heraldic symbols with history. For example, the coat of arms of the Omsk region was developed and approved not so long ago, in June 2003. A team of authors, including Igor Vakhitov, Albert Karimov, Oleg Nikitin, worked on the sketch of the heraldic symbol of this Russian region. They managed, on the one hand, to create a small artistic masterpiece, on the other hand, to fill the coat of arms and each of its elements with a deep meaning.
Description of the heraldic sign of the area
Replication and use of a one-color and full-color version is allowed, it is clear that the last option looks more advantageous on color photos and illustrations. Artists used a large number of colors and shades, including those that are quite rare in emblems, and, conversely, are actively used in world practice.
The coat of arms of the region has a complex compositional structure, it includes the following important elements:
- in fact, a French-shaped shield with its own structure of elements and symbols;
- a gold wreath with a scarlet ribbon framed by a shield;
- above the shield is a precious Old Russian crown, also supplemented with a scarlet ribbon.
The heraldic shield deserves special attention, since it contains original elements that are not found anywhere else. The field of the shield is silver, white is allowed. There is a golden cross in the center of the shield; a wavy azure pillar runs vertically along it. In each of the fields of the shield there are eight green pyramids.
In the middle of the shield there is an image of the fortress, a top view, the outline of the fortress with five bastions is shown in scarlet color. The center of the fortress is silver, against this background the authors of the sketch placed a golden arch.
Element symbology
The gold-colored cross, located in the center of the shield, has the title of "honorary figure" of the coat of arms of the Omsk region, it is clear that it is associated with Christianity, symbolizes faith and mercy. In addition, the cross indirectly indicates the central location of the region itself on the map of the country, as well as the fact that it connects different regions: north and south, east and west.
The azure wavy pillar is nothing more than the famous Irtysh, which flows through the territory of the region, the azure color in this case not only demonstrates the water flow, but is also a symbol of greatness and beauty.
The fortress is a reminder of the Omsk fortress, erected in 1716, and the arch is a symbol of the Tara gates, which were part of the defensive structures. The pyramids represent the number of districts that make up the region, in addition, they symbolize the natural resources of the region.
