Description of the attraction

The Asterix amusement park in the vicinity of Paris does not boom to the whole world, like Disneyland, and is inferior in size to it, moreover, it is closed from November to April. However, both the thrill-seeker and the calm family man with small children will find entertainment here to their liking. Many of those who have been to Asterix once come here again and claim that it is better here than in Disneyland.

The name "Asterix" is native to the French and is understandable to the inhabitants of most European countries. Asterix and Obelix, indomitable Gauls who resist the Roman occupation, are the main characters of French comics that appeared in the sixties of the XX century. Comics have been translated into more than 100 languages and dialects (including even Latin and Esperanto), and a large number of films (the last in 2014), board and video games have appeared on their motives. Even the first French satellite launched in 1965 bore this proud name. In general, any self-respecting Frenchman, despising everything foreign, should prefer the Asterix Park to Disneyland (which they, in fact, do).

Attractions and entertainment

If the tourist did not hold comics in his hands and did not watch a movie about Asterix, it doesn’t matter, this will not prevent him from having fun in the park. Screaming on a roller coaster does not require knowledge of Gauls and Romans. And then they squeal. There are only 32 attractions, but what kind! That there is one "Goodurix" - uncompromisingly bare rails, without decorations and decorations, along which trailers fall from a height of 36 meters and make seven loops in the air, turning people upside down. And the "Thunder of Zeus" with double spirals, and "Osiris", where daredevils rush at a speed of 90 kilometers per hour, and the water slide "Express" Menhir, after which you sometimes have to dry your clothes!

The rides bear these names for a reason - the park, which occupies 33 hectares, is divided into five thematic zones: "Ancient Greece", "Egypt", "Roman Empire", "Vikings", "Time Travel", "Welcome to Gaul" … Each zone is designed accordingly, and everywhere there are not only tickling nerves, but also peaceful attractions - for kids: carousels, boat trips, by train, by plane, by cars.

Different shows can be enjoyed in each sector: dances of dolphins and Californian sea lions in the Poseidon pool, stunt performances as Roman legionaries, spectacularly staged mini-performances about an attempt to steal the Mona Lisa, or artisans in the “medieval Parisian square”. The tourist only needs to take into account that all the shows, of course, are in French.
