This Russian region has many brands that could well take a place on the main heraldic symbol. Although, on the other hand, they are associated more with the main city of the region. Nevertheless, the coat of arms of the Tula region, approved by the local authorities in December 2000, speaks of the main direction of the economy - the development of heavy industry, and, above all, important defense enterprises.

The coat of arms was adopted in 2000, then amended in 2005. As described in the latest statute, the area symbol shield consists of the following important parts:
- a blade of a sword of silver color, located horizontally;
- two more of the same blades forming an oblique cross;
- two golden hammers located above and below the composition of swords.
The shield is painted scarlet, has a traditional shape, and a precious imperial crown (gold) is located above it. The second important element that is present outside the field of the shield is the order ribbon, which is draped around in beautiful folds and waves.
