Representatives of the animal kingdom often adorn the heraldic symbols of cities and administrative-territorial entities of the Russian Federation, especially the heraldry of settlements located beyond the Urals. The coat of arms of Tyumen, in this regard, is no exception, two animals are present on it at once, speaking with the important mission of shield holders.
Description of the coat of arms of Tyumen
Stylish images and laconic colors are the main characteristics of the main official symbol of this Siberian regional center. Three colors dominate - azure, gold and black, which look harmonious but restrained together. Also on the coat of arms there is the color of another precious metal - silver (in some details). From the point of view of composition, the heraldic symbol of Tyumen is quite complex, it includes the following complexes and elements:
- azure shield with a picture of a water stream and a swimming facility;
- supporters in the images of a fox and a beaver, painted black;
- bases from various types of gold armor;
- crowning the shield of a crown of gold with a laurel wreath of the same shade.
The river, depicted in silver on the shield, is the Tura, and the swimming facility has the popular name "plankton". The vessel is drawn without sails, but with a mast and a weather vane.
At the base of the shield there are military trophies, which are often present in heraldic compositions; you can distinguish banners, halberds, drums. On their background there is an azure ribbon with the city's motto, written in silver paint.
Facts from history
Interestingly, the first mention of the coat of arms of this city can be found in documents that date back to 1635, and the same animals were depicted on the symbol - a fox and a beaver.
Before the revolution, when Tyumen was part of the Tobolsk governorship, the shield was conventionally divided into two parts, in the upper field was the emblem of the governorship, in the lower field, in fact, the heraldic symbol of the city. In Soviet times, this symbol was not used, since its elements were associated with the Russian Empire and its conquests.
The return of the official symbol took place in 1993; in 2005, not only the coat of arms of Tyumen was approved, but also the flag. The regulation defines the color palette, elements, the order of use and replication. A full-color and one-color image of the Tyumen coat of arms is allowed, it is clear that the first option looks gorgeous in the photo and in illustrations.
