The capital of Ukraine is one of the largest European cities, leading its history from the time of the existence of the Polyan tribe. The water gate of Kiev is called the Postal Square, the architectural dominant of which is the Church of the Nativity of Christ. Here in 1861 the inhabitants of Kiev said goodbye to the national poet Taras Shevchenko. The temple was destroyed in the 30s of the last century and rebuilt in 2000. Not far from the church there is a funicular that takes passengers to the St. Michael's Cathedral.
The main attraction that attracts views of the Dnieper embankment is the majestic 62-meter sculpture of the Motherland, installed in honor of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
