All the rivers of Luxembourg run down to the North Sea coast. The local exception to this rule is the Shier River.
Ayish river
The Aysh channel crosses the lands of two states - Luxembourg and Belgium. The length of the river flow is only twenty-eight kilometers.
The source of the river is located on the lands of Belgium (near the village of Sélange). After that, she turns in a northwest direction and moves to the lands of Luxembourg. The Ayesh trail ends near Mersh, connecting with the waters of the Alzet River.
The river valley is called the "Valley of Seven Castles" for a reason. There are seven beautifully preserved medieval castles.
Uttert River
Uttert passes through the territory of Belgium and Luxembourg. The total length of the current is thirty-eight kilometers.
The river source is located in the north-west direction from Arlon at an altitude of four hundred and six meters above sea level. The mouth of the river was the Alzet (not far from Colmar-Berge). The river has several even smaller tributaries.
Moselle river
The Moselle bed cuts through the territories of several states - France, Luxembourg and Germany. The Moselle is a left tributary of the Rhine River.
The length of the river flow is equal to five hundred and forty-four kilometers with a total catchment area of twenty-eight thousand squares or more.
The source of the Moselle is located in the Vosges (Mount Ballon de Alsace, western slope). Then it passes through the lands of Lorraine, and even lower - it passes through a narrow meandering valley, dividing the territory of two mountain ranges: the Eifel and Hunsrück.
The confluence is the waters of the Rhine on the territory of the city of Koblenz. The main tributaries of the river are the Aviera, Saar and Ruver rivers. The Moselle, in its most part of the channel, can receive ships.
Bles river
The river bed passes through the territory of Luxembourg, starting near the village of Houster Dect (commune Oshid, north of the country). The total length of the river flow is only a couple of tens of kilometers. Bles ends its journey, connecting with the waters of the Sauer (the place is located near the village of Blesbruck). The river has several small tributaries.
Alzet river
The Alzet channel, with a total length of seventy-three kilometers, runs through the lands of France and Luxembourg. The catchment area of the river reaches one thousand one hundred seventy three square kilometers. The Alzet is a tributary of the Sauer River, flowing into it from the right.
