The capital of Luxembourg is interesting for travelers with a large concentration of restaurants (you can quickly satisfy your hunger with delicious dishes on Place d'Armes), the opportunity to stroll along the Royal Boulevard, visit local museums and galleries.

Monument "Golden Frau"

The symbol of Luxembourg is a gilded statue of a woman (she holds a laurel wreath over the head of the nation), erected on a 21-meter obelisk. She appeared in memory of the Luxembourgers who died in the war.

Adolphe bridge

It beckons travelers on warm evenings when the illumination is turned on. From here (the maximum height of the bridge is 42 m) you will be able to admire the park complex, located in the valley of the Petrus River, and other objects.

Bock casemates

Those who go here on an excursion will be able to walk along mysterious passages and dark chambers (the length of underground passages is 17 km), and in one of the rooms underground they will see an exposition that will acquaint with the history of these places. It is worth noting that during such a "journey" excursionists will come to the "surface" at a 100-meter height (from here you can admire the fantastic views of the Ram quarter and the gorge of the Petrus River).

Useful information: price: 3 euros / adults; 2.5 euros / children; excursions run until 17:00 (March-October); address: Montee de Clausen, 10.

Palace of the Grand Dukes

Before becoming the residence of the monarchs, the building served as the Town Hall and was the place where the Dutch governors lived. Today, the palace serves as a "study" for the Grand Duke and Duchess and is used for audiences and meetings (receptions and banquets are held in the Ballroom, and the Yellow Room is the place from where the Duke's performance is broadcast on Christmas Eve when he "gives" the people his Christmas greetings). You can visit the palace (there is an honor guard near it) and admire its interior at certain times (it is advisable to inquire at the Luxembourg information office) in July-August (within 6 weeks), when the Duke and his family go on vacation.

Notre Dame Cathedral

The cathedral is attractive for its 19th century interiors in the form of richly decorated choirs, a crypt in the Moorish style, numerous sculptures, colorful stained glass windows with biblical scenes, columns decorated with arabesques; here it is worth visiting the sarcophagus of John the Blind, the image of the Mother of God and the tomb of the Luxembourg rulers. It is worth noting that the towers of the cathedral are the symbol of Luxembourg.
