Zoo in Antwerp
One of the oldest in the world, Antwerp Zoo was opened in 1843 in the center of Belgium's second largest city. The organizers considered the main goal of the created park to be "the promotion of zoological and botanical sciences."
During its existence, the zoo has participated in many cultural, sports and charitable campaigns. Symphony concerts and even competitions within the framework of the Olympic Games were held on its territory. After the Second World War, the park received new pavilions and expositions and is considered today one of the most modern in terms of organizing the life of its guests.
