Description of the attraction
The State Toy Museum in Ukraine was opened on the very first day of 2005. The museum exposition is based on a stunning collection of 10,000 toys. This exhibition will tell the history of toys in Ukraine, starting from the 30s of the last century. The exposition tells a lot of interesting things about technical and construction toys, figurines, soft toys, dolls, a unique collection of polygraphic games, Christmas tree decorations and much more, no less interesting and exciting.
The fantastic flight of design ideas, together with the constant influence of scientific and technological progress, were embodied in industrial designs of a sewing machine from the 50s and 70s, a toy iron (from a coal version to an electric one) and the like. Both children and adults will enjoy the first artificial Christmas tree based on chicken feathers, as well as a working model of a steam engine.
You will also get acquainted with the work of outstanding Ukrainian artists and sculptors. The decoration of this exposition is the unique ethnographic dolls, which not only demonstrate in detail the festive national costume of a certain region, but also focus the attention of visitors on certain ethnic features in appearance.
The pearl of the museum's exhibition is a stunningly diverse and colorful collection of Ukrainian folk toys made from grass, cheese, clay, wood, and straw.
