Description of the attraction
The literary and memorial museum of David Guramishvili in Mirgorod, which is a real center of the city's cultural and artistic life, first opened its doors to visitors in May 1969. The exposition and funds of the museum demonstrate materials about different stages of the life and work of the famous Georgian poet, classic of Georgian literature of the 18th century David Guramishvili. In Mirgorod, he lived the last thirty-two years of his life. The museum collection contains editions of works by David Guramishvili and biographical books about him.
Attention is drawn to the part of the exhibition that demonstrates Ukrainian and Georgian household items of past eras, weapons samples of the 18th century, works of decorative and applied arts, products belonging to local craftsmen, Georgian souvenirs and much more.
Every year the museum hosts about twenty public events: book presentations, exhibitions, creative meetings. The exposition of the exhibition hall of the museum changes every month - new creative works of Mirgorod artists and craftsmen of decorative and applied arts are demonstrated, which invariably attract the attention of tourists.
