Description of the attraction
The building of the Mirgorod City Duma is one of the most beautiful and imposing buildings in the city center. The former building of the City Duma is also an undoubted architectural dominant of the central street of Mirgorod. The building was erected in the 12th year of the 20th century in the Art Nouveau style. Like all trends, the architecture of this building is distinguished by the rejection of angles and straight lines in favor of more natural, "natural" outlines. Both aesthetic beauty and functionality are inherent in it.
All structural elements: doors, windows are artistically processed. The two-storey building, devoid of any special architectural pretentiousness, makes an impression corresponding to its original purpose. Throughout its history, this building has not undergone any changes, except that now it is distinguished by bright, sunny colors of the facade.
During the Great Patriotic War, the building served as the headquarters of the Mirgorod partisan detachment "Victory". In 2002, in honor of the Day of Partisan Glory, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the wall at the entrance to the City Duma, on which the names of the leadership of the partisan detachment were immortalized. Now the building of the Mirgorod City Duma belongs to the regional state administration.
