Description of the attraction
The Art Museum in Imatra was opened in 1951. and is one of the first of its kind: the museum is located in the countryside in the building of the Cultural Center.
The museum contains more than 1400 works, some of which belong to the city, and the second to the Imatra Art Society. The main place in the collection is devoted to the work of Finnish artists of the 20th century. In addition, there are works by foreign artists of the 19th century, as well as engravings by Japanese masters of the 17th century. Absolutely all of the exhibits on display are of great cultural value.
Every year, the museum hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions, which attract many tourists from all over the world.
In summer, the museum is open to the public from Monday to Friday, and in autumn, winter and spring from Monday to Saturday. Free admission.
