Description of the attraction
In the picturesque town of Aalborg, you can visit the magnificent museum of modern art. The construction of the building for the gallery began in 1968, the authors of the construction project were the famous Finnish architects Elissa Aalto, Alvar Aalto with the participation of Jean-Jacques Baruel. The final finishing works of the building were completed in 1972. The total area of the Museum of Contemporary Art is 6,000 square meters. The facade of the building is made of the famous Carrara marble. The room is equipped in such a way that allows you to change the location of the halls and their sizes, depending on the needs of a particular exhibition. In addition, another important feature of the gallery is the use of mainly daylight for lighting, which made the gallery famous throughout the world.
The Museum of Contemporary Art houses seven small exhibition halls, one large main hall, a chamber music hall, a library, a conference hall, two auditoriums, a workshop, a cafe and administrative offices. A beautiful sculpture park is laid out around the gallery.
In the museum, visitors are presented with exhibitions of controversial paintings and sculptures. A characteristic feature of the works of the museum collection is the evolution from naturalism to abstract forms. Also presented for viewing is the "Ugly (or Beautiful)?"
