Description of the attraction

The State Aviation Museum is an open-air exhibition of civil and military aircraft in the Solomensky district of Kiev. The museum was founded in 2003, its opening is timed to the largest date - the 100th anniversary of world aviation. Here are presented aircraft and helicopters of different periods, missile carriers, fighters, training and passenger aircraft, information is given about their technical characteristics (there are plates almost everywhere).

On the territory of twenty hectares, about seventy exhibits are collected and placed, some of them can even "shelter" you on board. Small helicopter cockpits provide an excellent overview of all parts and instruments. In addition, the museum's arsenal contains cutaway engines and missiles, as well as a disassembled fighter. The exhibition is overwhelming not with the amount of metal and dimensions of the machines, but with the complexity and volume of information.

Visitors are offered thematic excursions on the history of the origin and formation of aeronautics and aviation, the development of aviation in the first half of the last century, during the Great Patriotic War, the history of the creation and formation of jet aviation. You will also be able to learn a lot of new and interesting things about the development of domestic bomber and fighter aircraft, about civilian domestic aviation, about helicopter construction in our country.

The State Aviation Museum is the youngest and at the same time the largest technical museum in Ukraine. A special flavor to the museum is given by the proximity of the operating Kiev airport; its runway runs a hundred meters from the museum.
