Description of the attraction

Amusement Park Gröna Lund Tivoli (literally translated as "Green Grove") is located on the sea side of Djurgården and is relatively small compared to other amusement parks, mainly due to its central location, which limits its territorial expansion.

Gröna Lund was founded in 1880, making it the oldest amusement park in Sweden. It has collected over 30 attractions in 15 acres and is also a popular summer concert venue.

In 1883, a German named Jacob Schultheis rented a square in Stockholm to build carousels and other entertainment, and until 2001, Schultheiss's descendants ruled the Grön Lund Park. Since 2006, the park has been owned by the Scandinavia AB group of parks and resorts, which is wholly owned by the Titstrand family.

The location of the park is completely unique in the sense that most of its buildings are old residential and commercial buildings of the 19th century. Consequently, not buildings were built for the park, but the park was erected around the buildings. The park is divided into three different entertainment areas.

Gröna Lund has most of the famous attractions such as the Love Tunnel, the Laughter Room, and seven roller coasters. Gröna Lund is also known for her rock and pop concerts. For example, a concert by Bob Marley in 1980 drew 32,000 people in the park, which is unique as the new rules prohibit such large audiences from gathering in Gröna Lund.

The park can be easily reached by tram, bus or ferry from the city center. The view from the park to Stockholm is quite impressive.
