Description of the attraction

The city of Mykonos, which has a second name - Chora, is a labyrinth of small narrow streets and white cube houses. It's not hard to get lost here.

The old part of the city - Castro - is located just above the coastal area. The Ethnographic Museum, housed in an elegant mansion, displays a collection of ceramics, old embroidery and fabrics, as well as the restored Vonis windmill. In this part of the city, there is the unusual Paraportiani church, consisting of some curved lines. The church was built in two tiers on the site of the ancient city gates in the 15th-17th centuries. To the north of it lies the most famous corner of the city - Alefandra, or Little Venice. All buildings here are painted by the artists who live in them. There is an Orthodox cathedral in the main square.

The collection of the Maritime Museum is dedicated to the art of ancient navigation in the Aegean Sea. Here you can see models of sailing ships, including ancient Greek ships, as well as navigational instruments and paintings by marine painters. The 19th century Cycladic house (Lena's House) has preserved typical furniture, furnishings, and applied art from those times.
