Description of the attraction
The opening of the Museum of History and Local Lore in the village of Vorokhta took place in 2006. The museum is located in the building of the village House of Culture and is dedicated to the outstanding Galician figure, philanthropist, state secretary of the ZUNR and the UPR, an active member of many Ukrainian societies, an honorary member of Prosvita and a senior Stavropigi Institute, one of the most respected and illustrious figures of Ukraine Stepan Fedak. The life path of him and his family is closely connected with Vorokhta.
Vorokhta is a village with a rich historical past and a vibrant present. Each era has left its mark on its architecture and culture. And the museum gives a fairly complete picture of the eventful history of the region. The exposition of the museum tells about the historical milestones of the emergence of the village, the activities of the liberation movement of this region in different periods. Along with this, materials are shown about the formation of the forest industry in the area, sports and tourism, sanatoriums, biographies of the famous natives of Vorokhta, the leaders of the village. It reveals the processes of the formation of a settlement, the oprishka movement on the Vorokhta outskirts, describes the religious life of the village.
