Description of the attraction
The Zhlobin Museum of History and Local Lore was first created in 1917. At first it was called the "Museum of Popular Glory" In September 1989, the museum moved to a new building. The museum was opened in the new premises on February 2, 1992. At the moment, the museum funds amount to more than 14,268 items.
The main exposition of the Zhlobin Museum is dedicated to the years of the Great Patriotic War. Here are documents from wartime, photographs of heroes, awards, weapons. In the hall of concentration camps, the exposition tells about concentration camps, prisoners, the crime of genocide by the fascist invaders. The local history hall tells the history of the town of Zhlobin from the moment of its foundation to the present day. The ethnographic hall with a fragment of a typical peasant hut in the Zhlobin region will acquaint you with the life and life of peasants of the 19th century, household utensils, handicrafts, national embroidery, dishes, samovars.
The town of Zhlobin developed thanks to the railway junction, to which another hall of the museum's exposition is dedicated. Here are photographs, a model of a railway carriage, a visual diagram of railway lines.
The hall of revolutionary events shows how the revolution came to Zhlobin and how the townspeople accepted it. The exhibition features historical documents and photographs.
The museum conducts educational, educational work among schoolchildren, thematic excursions. Exhibitions, festivals, contests and other events are held here.
