Description of the attraction
The wooden Assumption Church was built in one of the most famous climatic Carpathian resorts, in a picturesque place in the mountains - Yaremche in 1884. This town annually attracts thousands of tourists who come here to breathe the clean mountain air, enjoy magnificent views of the mountains, touch the history and identity of the Ukrainian people. There are many interesting historical sites in Yaremche, each of which has its own unique, inimitable history. So, not far from the railway crossing, in the very center of the village, the Assumption Church is located.
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary fascinates with its original beauty. The small, cruciform church, surrounded by a stunning natural landscape, makes an indelible impression. Standing on the stone paved path that leads from the colorful Prut River valley to the church, you can enjoy the picturesque Carpathian landscapes and the natural beauty of the wooden temple. This is the land of magical nature and original autochthonous culture and the Assumption Church can serve as a vivid example of the architectural style of the Hutsul region.
Anyone can visit the church. A special atmosphere reigns here, which helps to calm the soul, fill it with peace and restore inner balance. Of greatest interest are the services during major religious holidays, when the residents of the village, dressed in traditional Ukrainian clothes, come with the whole family to pray.
