Description of the attraction

The Bobruisk Regional Museum of History and Local Lore was created in 1990 and had the original name of the Bobruisk State Regional Museum of Battle and Labor Glory. In 2007 the museum was renamed.

At the moment, the museum has three exposition and two exhibition halls. In the ethnography hall, you can get acquainted with the objects of the peasant folk life of the period of the late 19th - early 20th centuries. The archaeological exposition of the museum contains many interesting finds collected on the territory of the modern Bobruisk region.

The exposition dedicated to the Bobruisk fortress tells about the construction, military glory and famous exploits, as well as the period when the fortress became a casemate for the Decembrists. In the hall dedicated to the Soviet period, you will learn about the creation in 1919 of the first agricultural commune in the village of Panyushkovichi.

Expositions dedicated to famous people will tell about the famous inhabitants of Bobruisk: playwright V. I. Dunin-Martsinkevich, literary critic Ales Adamovich, writer P. Golovache, poet M. Avramchik, writer A. Dyatlov, granddaughter of the great Russian poet A. S. Pushkin - N. A. Vorontsova-Velyaminovo.

The hall dedicated to the Great Patriotic War contains photographs, weapons, objects telling about the heroism of the inhabitants of Bobruisk during the Nazi occupation, about partisan resistance, about underground work.

The museum holds many interesting events: exhibitions of paintings by artists, exhibitions of children's drawings, photo exhibitions, exhibitions of works of folk craftsmen, archaeological and literary excursions, lectures, master classes.
