Description of the attraction

Perissa is a small town on the southeast coast of the Greek island of Santorini, a few kilometers from Emporio and about 15 kilometers from Fira. This is one of the best and most popular resort centers of the island with a well-developed tourist infrastructure and a variety of entertainment options.

In Perissa you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay - an excellent beach with black volcanic sand, which is rightfully considered one of the best on the island, the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea, a wide range of accommodation for every taste and budget (cozy hotels, comfortable apartments and camping), shops, markets, many excellent restaurants and taverns. At the service of lovers of noisy parties and dancing until the morning - nightclubs of Perissa, and for fans of outdoor activities - various types of water sports (water skiing, sailing, diving, etc.) and entertaining excursions.

At the northern end of the Perissa beach rises the famous rocky promontory of Mesa Vuno - a huge fantastic beauty of the rock, from the top of which you can enjoy stunning panoramic views. But it is worth climbing to its top not only for the sake of unforgettable landscapes, it is here, at an altitude of almost 400 m above sea level, that one of the main attractions of the island is located, as well as an important archaeological site - the ruins of the ancient city of Tire. On the slopes of Mesa Vuno you will find the small church of Panagia Katefiani, and at the foot of the rock - the ruins of the early Christian basilica of St. Irene. However, the island is relatively small and if you have not come here on a one-day visit, you will have time to visit other sights of Santorini.
