The Nevyansk State Historical and Architectural Museum is one of the leading cultural institutions in the Sverdlovsk Region. The opening of the first scientific exhibition museum in the city of Nevyansk took place in 1913 and was timed to coincide with the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty.
In 2002, on the basis of the Nevyansk Museum of Local Lore, the regional "Nevyansk State Historical and Architectural Museum" was founded, which consists of the Museum of the History of the Nevyansk Region of the 17th - first half of the 20th centuries, the Demidovs' leaning tower and the exhibition hall of the Nevyansk Museum. There are more than 60 thousand items in the museum's funds. The museum displays collections of archeology, painting, ethnography, handicrafts, graphics, sculpture, technology, documents and rare books.
One of the most mysterious and interesting architectural monuments of the 18th century. the city of Nevyansk is the famous leaning tower of the Demidovs. There are a lot of legends about the tower, the main active person of which was the plant owner - A. Demidov. On the sixth floor of the tower, there is the most mysterious of the rooms - the "auditory room". The clockwork of the famous English chimes can be seen on the first octagonal tier.
The Museum of the History of the Nevyansk Territory, which is part of the Nevyansk Museum of History and Local Lore, is located in the historical center of the city, near the Sloping Tower, in the former building of the factory power plant, which has the status of a monument of industrial architecture of the early XX century.
The Nevyansk Museum is located in the former building of the Gostiny Dvor of the 19th century. The museum exposition is represented by items of production and everyday life of the period of the Yakovlev plant owners. Visitors to this museum have the opportunity to get acquainted in more detail with the development of the gold mining industry and various crafts: blacksmith, pottery, blacksmith, nail, carriage, leather, etc.
