Description of the attraction

Stalin's bunker - "The reserve command post of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Red Army I. V. Stalin during the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 ". This facility was built in the 30s of the 20th century. The construction of the bunker was part of the state program to ensure the defense of the USSR. Stalin's bunker is connected to the Kremlin by an underground road, 17 kilometers long. Stalin's bunker is protected from aerial bombs by a 6-8 meter reinforced concrete ceiling. The slab is laid on 4-meter-thick natural stone partitions. The bunker is located at a depth of 37 meters.

Stalin's bunker consists of a large number of premises for various purposes. It is equipped with a meeting room of the Headquarters of the Supreme High Command of the Red Army, JV Stalin's study, rest rooms, a dining room, an office for generals, combat service and support rooms.

In order to disguise the bunker, it was decided to build a stadium with 120,000 seats. It was supposed to become the central stadium of the USSR. A site in the Izmailovsky Menagerie was chosen for the construction of a sports complex. The place for the construction of the important facility was not chosen by chance. There were three military airfields nearby, including the strategic Monino airfield.

In 1996, Stalin's Bunker was opened to the public.

At present, Stalin's Bunker is a branch of the Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The museum has preserved the atmosphere of that time as much as possible. The round meeting room Stavki has excellent acoustic properties. In a small study, a table, chairs, a telephone and a volume of Marx's works have survived from that time. The museum houses many wartime exhibits: leaflets, newspapers, posters from the funds of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces.
