Description of the attraction

Walking through the old quarters of Evpatoria, you can see many unique attractions included in the excursion route "Small Jerusalem", which also includes the famous Pharmacy Museum.

The pharmacy museum is located in an old building on Karaeva street, 4. It was built in 1897 by the pharmacist Roffe on the site of the oldest Crimean pharmacy, founded in 1823, and has remained unchanged to this day. Today it is a functioning city pharmacy in Evpatoria No. 43, the museum exposition of which can be viewed at any time when the pharmacy is open.

The Evpatoria Pharmacy Museum hospitably opened its doors to visitors in 2004. Its exposition is presented with many interesting exhibits: these are old pharmaceutical dishes and furniture, manual and mechanical equipment used to make medicines. Of particular interest are a press for squeezing out cork plugs, pill machines, a birch bark rod for storing henna. Pharmacy shelves are lined with antique dishes, various original colorful bottles, bronze and porcelain mortars. Each item had its own specific purpose. A bottle with dental drops made 100 years ago is still kept here, while the product has not changed either in appearance or in chemical composition.

It also contains the original agreement on the purchase of this pharmacy by Roffe's pharmacist, price lists of various drugs, old samples of drug advertisements and much more.

By visiting a pharmacy, any visitor will find himself in the atmosphere of the past and will be able to immerse himself in the spirit of those times. The number of visitors is growing every year, which indicates a significant interest in the museum from both local residents and tourists.
