Description of the attraction
The Anapa Museum of Local Lore is located in the city park, not far from the New Embankment, on the banks of which the famous Anapa lighthouse is located. Dedicated to the centuries-old history of the city, the local history museum is housed in a house erected in 1909, where the resort gymnasium of the Shchetnev teachers was previously located.
The museum expositions will tell their visitors about the times of the Bosporus kingdom, as well as about the vivid episodes of the Russian-Turkish wars and the development of Anapa as a resort city. Walking through the halls of the local history museum, you can see expositions dedicated to the fauna and flora of the Anapa region, learn in more detail about the life of the inhabitants of the Black Sea. In addition, there are exhibits related to the history of the city, its ethnography, handicrafts and art. The museum has a hall with an exposition dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War, where visitors can see many interesting exhibits, namely, weapons, letters, documents and other evidence of the heroic deed of our people.
The local history museum is relatively small, but at the same time very informative and interesting. Various exhibitions have become regular, the most popular of which is the exhibition of viticulture and winemaking, which has already become traditional and attracts not only local residents, but also guests of the city and the region.
The Anapa Museum has permanent exhibitions, including the "Black Sea" - telling about the fauna and flora of the resort city, "Wild West: cowboys and Indians", "Made in the USSR" - an exhibition that brought together the best exhibits of a nonexistent country.
