Description of the attraction
Aarhus is located on the shores of Aarhus Bugg in the eastern part of Jutland. This second largest city in Denmark is surrounded by dense forests, picturesque lakes, a bay and the Kattegat Strait. Aarhus attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world with its many cultural attractions, one of which is the Aarhus Theater.
The Aarhus Theater is the largest theater in the city. The old theater building, which was called Svedekassen, became too cramped for the expanding city and the local authorities decided to build a new theater building. The new building was designed by renowned Danish architect Hack Kampmann in Art Nouveau style using natural materials. The construction of the building began on August 12, 1897, and the final finishing works of the building were completed two years later. The theater was officially opened on September 15, 1900. The theater has several stages with a permanent troupe of professional actors.
Today, various musicals and performances of the international level are staged on the stage of the theater. Each season, new and interesting performances appear in the theater's repertoire. The theater's repertoire is quite diverse and is designed for audiences of all ages and interests.
