Description of the attraction
Odessa Municipal Museum of Private Collections is the first and only museum of private collections in Ukraine and is located on Polskaya Street, 19. It is also the youngest museum in this city. The museum was founded in 1989 thanks to Alexander Vladimirovich Bleshunov, a famous collector, who donated all his art collections to the city, united in mini-collections, on the basis of which the museum was created.
The museum is located in the same house where A. Bleshunov lived and worked on his collection. The uniqueness of the museum lies in the fact that it has preserved the unique image of the "home collection" and all the traditions that arose during the time of its owner. The collection is kept in the owner's former apartment, in the "Bleshunov House", which today has become one of the cultural centers of Odessa.
Each room of the museum tells about the cultural heritage of individual nations. During the tour, you can visit the collector's personal account - the A. V. Bleshunov and see there objects dear to the creator: family heirlooms, photographs of friends, students and materials that are associated with his passion for mountaineering. Visitors will remember for a long time the acquaintance with various works of art and everyday life of Western Europe in the 19th - early 20th centuries, the Buddhist and Muslim East, Ukraine and Russia.
