Description of the attraction

One of the most visited tourist cities in Cyprus, Limassol boasts a large number of attractions and interesting places to visit. So, one of such corners is the City Park and the zoo located on its territory.

Over the past few years, the zoo, which was founded in 1960, has undergone significant changes - a sick amount of money was allocated for its reconstruction and modernization, thanks to which it was equipped in accordance with all available standards. And although the zoo is relatively small in size, a fairly large number of animals and birds live there (about 90 species in total), while all of them are provided with good conditions that are as close as possible to the natural conditions of their habitat. Among the inhabitants of the zoo, there are real rare animals listed in the Red Book, such as, for example, the Cypriot mouflon.

As for the City Park itself, it is, first of all, famous for the fact that every September a wine festival is held there, which attracts a huge number of people. This ten-day celebration is sponsored by local winemakers and was first held in 1961. The wonderful taste of wine, the secrets of which are passed down from generation to generation, is complemented by the bright national flavor of the festival - guests have the opportunity to hear traditional Cypriot songs and sounds of national instruments such as bouzouka. In addition, in addition to tasting various wines, everyone can personally participate in the very process of making this "drink of the gods".
