Description of the attraction
Park of Culture and Rest named after T. Shevchenko is located in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk and is a favorite vacation spot not only for local residents, but also for its guests. The park was opened on the territory of the former estate of Baron Romashkan.
Initially, this place was a wild oak forest, which was chosen by Count Potocki as a hunting ground. In the 19th century, this square passed into the possession of the city, after which they began to equip it. So, in those days, alleys were laid, a series of cascading waterfalls was created.
During the Soviet Union, the first and still the only monument in the city to the great Kobzar was erected in the park - T. G. Shevchenko. The park itself was redesigned and only two lakes remained from the former. One of them is called "Swan Lake", because there is a special house here, chosen by numerous swans and ducks. There is an amusement park nearby.
This park is a favorite place not only for leisure, but also for weddings. Indeed, in 2010, the "Stone of Love" was brought here from Galilee, the place where Jesus Christ himself blessed the couple in love. Today, near this stone, they confess their love, take pictures for memory and make wishes.
