Description of the attraction

Park named after Yanka Kupala in Minsk was laid out relatively recently. Before the war, he had not yet existed. The war left deep scars on the face of the Belarusian capital, in particular, during the bombing a quarter of residential buildings on the banks of the Svisloch River was completely destroyed. Among these houses was the house of the national Belarusian poet Yanka Kupala.

In memory of the popularly beloved poet, as well as the past war, it was decided to arrange a green park in the very center of Minsk, which will delight the eye and fill the lungs of the city with fresh air.

The park was founded in 1949. By 1962, young trees had grown, monuments and paths were laid. This year the park received the honorary name of Yanka Kupala.

There is a sculptural composition in the park that pays tribute to the work of the Belarusian songwriter Yanka Kupala. The people of Minsk fell in love with the Wreath fountain full of youthful enthusiasm and fun. Its plot is that on the pagan holiday of Ivan Kupala, widely celebrated in Belarus, young girls throw wreaths into the water, laughing. Hair flutters in the wind, graceful flexible bodies form a charming composition.

There are also several small stone sculptures installed in the park, as well as a monument to the Belarusian pioneer printer Francis Skaryna.

The park is kept in perfect order. A large number of rare trees and perennial flowers are planted in it, picturesque variegated flower beds are regularly planted, pleasing the eye on a summer day. The park is designed in such a way that it pleases the eye at any time of the year. It is pleasant to walk along it in a cheerful spring, and a hot summer, and a brooding autumn, and a snow-white winter.
