Description of the attraction

The estate of Shirinsky-Shakhmatov in Aleksandrovsk was founded in 1772 by the major of the Bakhmut regiment of hussars, Konstantin Yuzbash, a Serb by origin, and a little later became the full property of his son, A. Yuzbash. After that, the estate was owned by Prince Shirinsky-Shakhmatov. And later - the landowners Somov, Rubenstein, Elovaisky and Golubev. In Soviet times, the house housed a recreation camp for children "The Seagull". After the civil war, the district party committee was located in this estate. Until 2006, the palace housed a tuberculosis dispensary.

Most likely, the original building of the estate was completely wooden, but after a while it was rebuilt several times. A two-storey stone house, made in the classicism style, and wings, which are connected with a colonnade, have survived to our time. There are also wine cellars and a small house where the estate manager lived. Also on the territory of the estate is the Ascension Church, built in 1840. The estate is surrounded by a brick fence with massive gates. On the opposite side there is an approach to the Lugan river. All these buildings are supplied with electricity, gas and water.

In the northern part there is a square with the Ascension Church, which is unique in that there was no time when it was closed. Services were held both during the war of 1812 and during the 1917 revolution.

Today, the building of the Shirinsky-Shakhmatov estate is a monument of national importance "Panskaya estate", which is located on a land plot of 2.2 hectares in the center of the city of Aleksandrovsk.
