Description of the attraction

The Museum of the History of Chocolate and Cocoa was opened in Moscow in 2009. It was created on the basis of museums of famous Moscow confectionery factories: Rot Front, Red October and Babaevsky Confectionery Concern.

Confectionery factories produce a variety of confectionery products, but chocolate, of course, has a special place in the assortment. Chocolate is the world's first and most famous dessert. The museum's exposition is dedicated to chocolate and cocoa from which it is made.

The first hall of the exhibition is dedicated to the culture of the Mayan civilization. It is known that it was the Maya who first began to prepare a wonderful drink from cocoa beans. The second hall of the exposition is the hold of the conquistadors' ship. It was they who brought chocolate to Europe. From the further exposition, visitors will learn the history of the emergence of cocoa in Russia. During the tour, visitors will learn about the amazing properties of chocolate, about Russia in the 18th century, about the three chocolate kings - Einem, Abrikosov and Leonov - the founders of the confectionery industry in Russia. A large exposition introduces the first packages of sweets and chocolates. In the exposition, which is stylized as VDNKh, you can see a lot of advertising materials.

The entire museum exposition is "under the canopy of a starry sky that recreates the position of the stars at the very moment when the famous Cortez sailed from the coast of Mexico to give the world cocoa and chocolate." The museum has the most modern exhibition equipment and uses the latest technology. A huge e-book can be flipped by five people at the same time and view colorful illustrations, cartoons and films. They all tell the story of an interesting history of chocolate.

Excursions are conducted, which include a visit to the chocolate factory itself. There you can see how the chocolate mass becomes a product - chocolate and sweets, and the most pleasant thing about the excursion is that you can taste all the sweets!
