Description of the attraction

Mannerheim's saloon car was built in 1929-30. and was at the personal disposal of the marshal from 1939 to 1946. It consists of a salon, five bedrooms, a kitchen and a toilet. On most trips, in addition to Mannerheim himself, there were 1-2 more people in the carriage.

The service car of the commander-in-chief was part of the train, which consisted of a steam locomotive, 2 sleeping cars, a dining car, a car for personnel, an anti-aircraft car and a car for transporting cars.

Mannerheim made over 100 trips in this car. The greatest public interest was aroused by the trip associated with his 75th birthday, during which he received personal congratulations from Adolf Hitler. Mannerheim made his last trip in this car when he was president in 1946.

The restored carriage is open to visitors annually only on June 4, on Mannerheim's birthday, from 10.00 to 17.00.
