Description of the attraction
The Croatian School Museum is located in the state capital, Zagreb. The Croatian School Museum is visited annually by many tourists interested in the peculiarities and history of school education in Croatia.
The history of the museum begins in 1901, when it was founded by the Croatian Literary and Pedagogical Society. Since the day of its foundation, the Croatian School Museum has been located in the State Teachers' House. Today it is the only museum on the territory of the state specializing in the field of education. The collection of the school museum contains exhibits that tell about the past and present of Croatian pedagogy and education. In several halls of the museum there is a permanent exhibition, which has about a thousand items. In 1900, during the World's Fair in Paris, many of the exhibits that can be seen in the museum today were exhibited there.
At the school museum there is a pedagogical library, which contains about 30 thousand rare editions and reference books. From time to time, the Croatian school museum hosts various pedagogical conferences, lectures, training seminars, as well as thematic cultural and historical exhibitions dedicated to education and pedagogy.
For the convenience of tourists with children, a playroom is equipped in the museum building, where you can leave your child during the excursion.
