Description of the attraction

The building of the Kazan Choreographic School is located in the center of Kazan, on K. Marx Street. It was built in 1906 by the architect S. V. Bechko - Druzin. The building is an architectural monument.

The two-storey building has an L-shaped plan, designed in the neoclassical style popular at the beginning of the twentieth century. The building has two wings, which are connected from the southeast by a cut corner, above which there is a dome with a ribbed surface and a weather vane. The facades of the building are gracefully decorated with semi-columns and pilasters. The balconies of the building are decorated with intricately patterned lattices. In the decoration of the building's interiors, the luxurious stucco moldings that adorn the ceilings of the premises have been partially preserved. A staircase with an openwork metal railing decorated with rosettes leads to the second floor.

In January 1993, the Kazan Choreographic School was opened in the building. It was formed on the basis of the choreographic department of the music school. The idea of creating a specialized school appeared in the sixties of the twentieth century. The Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil has brought up a whole galaxy of brilliant dancers and ballerinas. The ballet school has become a necessary part of the process of transferring heritage and skills to young performers.

The Kazan Choreographic School trains ballet dancers and dancers for folk dance ensembles. The school has 49 teachers and accompanists. Among the teachers there are People's Artists of Russia, People's Artists of Tatarstan, Honored Artists of Russia and Tatarstan, Honored Artists of Tatarstan. The school is taught by a master of sports of the USSR in gymnastics and an associate professor of medical sciences.

Of great importance in the learning process and in the formation of future artists, industrial practice plays - participation in ballet and opera performances of the Tatar State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil.
