There are several popular resorts in the Krasnodar Territory. One of them is Gelendzhik, which is located on the shore of the bay of the same name, just a few tens of kilometers from Novorossiysk. The Black Sea, long beaches, a subtropical climate, the proximity of the Markoth mountains, a long high season - Gelendzhik has too many advantages, and therefore a very large number of loyal fans who come here from year to year bring children and grandchildren, noting with surprise how the city changes over time, it becomes more comfortable, better, more interesting, more modern. It is these holidaymakers who can tell how much money to take to Gelendzhik.
Accommodation, meals, trips to amusement parks and water parks, excursions will cost a lot in Gelendzhik. Like any other resort on the Black Sea, Gelendzhik simply cannot be cheap a priori. According to statistics, about 3 million tourists come here every year for vacation, who bring with them rubles, dollars, euros and do not deny themselves anything. And local residents set prices for their services so that they can live comfortably the whole winter without working - until the next tourists arrive.
The high season in Gelendzhik begins in May and ends at the end of September. During this period, the resort almost never rains, and the water temperature near the coast is kept at around 18-24 degrees Celsius.
Most tourists come to Gelendzhik for a beach holiday. In the city itself and its surroundings, there are 114 beaches with a total length of more than 20 km. Basically, local beaches are pebbly, only in the center of Gelendzhik there is an artificially created beach with a sandy surface.
Accommodation
The city of Gelendzhik is the center of a large resort area, which also includes the small but cozy villages of Kabardinka, Divnomorskoe, Dzhanhot, Praskoveevka, Krinitsa, Betta, Arkhipo-Osipovka. It will be a little cheaper to settle in them than in Gelendzhik itself. In each of these resort towns there are good hotels, guest houses, recreation centers, private apartments. If you wish, you can also live in a tent in specially designated places, which will significantly reduce the travel budget.
In Gelendzhik itself, there is accommodation for both budget tourists and wealthy travelers. The hotel fund consists of about four hundred hotels, boarding houses and sanatoriums of various levels of comfort. The number of private apartments and houses that can be rented for the summer vacation has long exceeded 4,000.
The cost of living in Gelendzhik depends on many factors: the time of the year, the proximity of housing to the sea, the availability of basic amenities.
Gelendzhik offers for accommodation:
- apartments. This beautiful word means private apartments, rooms, houses - everything that belongs to local residents and is rented to tourists. A room in a private house will cost 500-600 rubles. Apartment rentals are found on every corner;
- guest houses. In fact, a whole group of guests can live in small compact houses. Usually, several families rent houses at once in order to reduce the cost of their vacation. House rental prices start at 500 rubles. Pay attention to the guest houses "Casa Blanca" (710 rubles per night), "Argo" (2200 rubles);
- three-star hotels. This is the best accommodation option for those who love comfort. The hotels have soft beds, a minimum set of gadgets (hairdryer, air conditioning, TV, sometimes a refrigerator), towels, a bathroom, a bath or a shower. The cost of a room in 3-star hotels is 1500-2000 rubles per person. There are many decent hotels in Gelendzhik. Pay attention to "Lermont", "Hotel Mari", "Central" and others;
- 4 star hotels. In the low season, rooms in these hotels are rented for 3000-6000 rubles per person. In high season, prices rise substantially. Tourists praise the 4-star hotels "Marseille", "Cruise", "Alean Family Resort & SPA Biarritz";
- 5 star hotels. The most famous hotel in Gelendzhik - "Kempinski Grand Hotel" - belongs to this category. Rooms in five-star hotels are rented for at least 7000-8000 rubles. In summer, prices for the best rooms go up to 100,000 rubles.
Nutrition
All tourists, once at the resort, wonder where they can have a tasty and cheap lunch. There are enough places in Gelendzhik where set meals are served or simply offer inexpensive dishes. You can eat for 250-500 rubles in Canteen # 1 in the center, Canteen # 5 on Primorskaya Street, in the "Hello!" near the funicular station and some others. They serve traditional borscht, cabbage soup, cutlets, mashed potatoes, porridge, fish.
By the way, don't miss the opportunity to go to some decent seafood restaurant. Gelendzhik is located on the seashore, so it is here that you should try fried flounder (from 650 rubles per serving), red mullet (you can find it for 250-300 rubles), oysters (250 rubles per piece). In general, many vacationers note that the cost of meals in local restaurants and cafes exceeds those in other Black Sea resorts. Nevertheless, there are still people who want to dine in pleasant interiors and good company. Lunch at a mid-level cafe in Gelendzhik will cost 1000 rubles. In restaurants, be prepared to pay up to 3000-4000 rubles.
First courses in reputable establishments cost about 700 rubles, second courses made from meat - 1500-2000 rubles.
There are many interesting establishments with their own flavor in the resort. These include:
- Ukrainian Dvorik specializing in Ukrainian cuisine. The waitresses serving the people look like they came from a distant Ukrainian farm. It is customary to try delicious dumplings with meat, which cost about 350 rubles;
- "Mangal House". The name of the establishment speaks for itself. They offer dishes cooked over an open fire. You can dine for 1500 rubles;
- Saloon Western is an establishment designed in the style of the saloons of the Wild West. This is a pretty nice place where famous DJs work. Dinner here will cost 1000 rubles.
Entertainment
Arriving in Gelendzhik with children, you can go broke, because there are three water parks built here, where you can disappear all day long.
- Waterpark "Begemot" is located on Lunacharsky Street. It consists of three pools with 17 slides and an extensive children's corner, where little ones can fool around in the company of the same toddlers while their parents and older siblings experience the attractions more seriously. The entrance ticket to the Begemot water park will cost 1300 rubles.
- The Dolphin water park near the central beach costs 500 rubles. There is less entertainment here, but the place is still very pleasant.
- Gelendzhik is also home to the country's largest water park, which is called the Golden Bay. It offers more than a hundred slides and attractions for every taste and age, 17 swimming pools and several catering establishments. You can visit it for 1,700 rubles per person. Children's tickets to all water parks cost almost half the price.
It is also worth going to the local dolphinarium, where wonderful shows with the participation of marine animals take place. Tickets will cost 800-1700 rubles, depending on the time of the show and the chosen place for watching dolphins.
A visit to the Safari Park will also be remembered, where animals that have suffered from human actions, for example, who worked in a circus or visited a street photographer, are kept. On the territory of the park there is also the Maritime Museum, which displays ancient fossils, coins with a marine theme, items obtained by divers from lost ships. As a bonus, guests are offered to ride a cable car that rises to the Markoth ridge. All these locations are available for 1500 rubles.
Transport
There is no railway station in Gelendzhik. The main public transport here is buses and minibuses. They will take you to the nearest resort villages and Novorossiysk.
A bus ticket that moves around the city costs 23 rubles. The fare to neighboring towns will be more expensive. You can get to Novorossiysk, which is located 25 km from Gelendzhik, by bus for 69 rubles.
The first buses leave at 6:00 am, the last at 22:00. But the bus schedule may change. Therefore, when planning a trip around the city or from Gelendzhik, specifically specify the departure time of your transport and do not rely on "chance". However, if the buses do not run for some reason, you can always take a taxi to the desired point.
Taxi drivers charge a landing fee (about 60-100 rubles) and estimate each kilometer of the road in Gelendzhik at a maximum of 25 rubles, in the suburbs - 30 rubles.
A taxi ride around Gelendzhik will cost about 400 rubles. You can get to Kabardinka or Divnomorskoye located near the city for 900 rubles. Taxi drivers will take you to villages more distant from Gelendzhik for 1,500 rubles.
What is the budget for a trip to Gelendzhik for a week for one person? To the cost of a room in the most ordinary hotel, which is about 14,000 rubles, we add about 12,000 rubles for food. The latter includes budget lunches in canteens, multiple meals in a high-end restaurant, and street and beach fast food. Excursions and entertainment will cost another 5,000 rubles. Approximately 1,500-2,000 rubles can be set aside for the purchase of memorable gifts. Rides by public transport and taxis will cost another 2000 rubles.
It turns out that 35,000 rubles will be enough for a vacation in Gelendzhik for 7 days. This budget can be increased if you choose a more expensive hotel for your stay, and decreased if you choose to stay in a hostel. Do not forget to add the cost of Gelendzhik tickets to the resulting amount.
